LCY Summer 2010

As I sit here at my house, fresh cup of Nabob coffee steaming beside me, I am in awe of the wonder of GOD.  The summer is over for us at LCY.  That means we pack up the calendars, hold onto memories, and reflect on how much God has done for us.  Never have I seen such an awesome display in a youth group.  God was asked to attend our summer, and boy did He ever!

Nine weeks ago, we started this journey.  We all developed a plan for the summer, and executed.  We began with the best VBS, followed it up the best Summer Camp(Superwow), and continued our best summer.  We went to White Water, saw free movies, attended Braves games, swam in Ray & Susan's pool, enjoyed The Varsity, slept here at our house,Shoot the Hooch'ed, hung out, attacked our friend in paintball, took day trips, and overnight ones, Stone Mountain, different area Parks, went to lunch, plus a few random events.


But what i have seen the most, out of all the growth we experienced,  was a desire to come and see what God is doing.  Our lifesteps class has grown to the point where we are overfull, our Wed. Nite attendance has doubled, and it has nothing to do with us.  We asked God to attend our summer.

This has been the best summer.  I really mean it.  I have been in ministry for 15 years, and this is THE best summer.  I thank GOD for allowing us to be a part of what He is doing.

We have started new groups, new classes, new curriculum, new methods, and God is leading us there.

I have seen us double our leaders, students have changed, prayer is deeper, and excitement is through the roof.

Just wait til school starts.

Final trip of lcy summer 2010

Lunch is done.we have groups of six being pulled by the boat on the tube.everyone else is swimming or playin frisbee or Hanging near the grill. This sumner has b een fantastic.better than I would ever had believed was possible. God has blessed thisgroup and it is my honor to be a part of what he is doing.

We are planing on being back around six or seven.but everyone is having a go od time and we are being safe.

So off we go to hot shots for some gunning. We have about fifteen or so. Wish us luck. We haves s few new faces and both guys and girls so this should be amazing.

stone mountain. They just closed the gates. We have found our spot. Are loaded with burgers n dogs and water n soda. Students are stayin fed and hydrated. Our spot is great and we are settled. We have a group tackling the mountain. Another is enjoying the ac in the shops. Some are in the vilage. And another are holding spots on the lawn. the sun is setting and the breeze is nice. Watermelon soon...
